You can find our beautiful town in northeastern Bohemia, about thirty-five kilometres from Hradec Kralove, ten kilometers from Poland.
We are a sports club which operates at stadium of general Klapálek. Grounds of stadium are quite large, among athletic track and fields you will find throwing sector with a cage, artificial turf or tennis and volleyball courts. There is also administrative building, building for maintenance tools, sanitary facilities and common rooms. The athletic stadium was substantially reconstructed in 2008. Both track and fields are covered with artificial surface Conipur which is great for training and very fast for sprinters during competitions.
In near history of our athletic track (thus since 2008) is our meeting growing gradually, both in sport and management level. This is evidenced also by the fact that Grand Prix Nove Mesto nad Metuji is included in the highest Czech athletic league for last two years. We are far the smallest town that held such an important event. And we are very happy and proud of it.
Our meeting has been evaluated as the most valuable in terms of sports performances. Great achievements were shown by wonderful athletes from around the world.
We really appreciate cooperation with managers who brought to us athletes like Jaroslav Bába, Vítězslav Veselý, Lukáš Melich, Jiří Mužík, Lucie Škrabáková, Lucie Pelantová, Josef Prorok, Michal Uhlík, Jiří Vojtík, Kateřina Čechová (CZE), Jeff Porter (USA), Cornelius Ndiwa (KEN), Josef Robertson (JAM); Yohei Sugai a Tatra Omata (JAP); Marek Plawgo (POL),Zalina a Marina Marghieva (MOL),Renata Medgyesová; Josef Renčík, Josef Pelikán (SVK) and others indeed.
We are looking forward to jubilee thirty-fifth year of Grand Prix Nove Mesto nad Metuji.
We would like to invite all athletes who will have the largest competition of the last quarter – Olympic Games in London - already behind. The same kind invitation also applies for others who didn´t manage to qualify this time. We are also looking forward to our best athletes from youth categories of course. And we will love to see all athletics fans around the athletic track of our stadium again.
